The Winix 9000 PlasmaWave Air Purification System cleans the air by utilizing an impressive 5-Stage purification process in conjuction with a 4-speed fan. It includes digital controls, automatic settings for simple operation, dust and odor sensors, a timer setting, remote control, sleep mode, and a filter-change indicator.

5-Stage Purification

The Winix 9000 PlasmaWave incorporates a 5-Stage Air Cleaning process to silently remove dust, pollen, mold, pet dander, and other common airborne conntaminants. Winix PlasmaWave technology enhances the process by producing Hydroxyls which help to eliminate dangerous bacteria, viruses, chemical vapors, and other strong odors produced by smoke, cooking, and pets.

Stage 1: Washable Pre-Filter
A multiple-use anti-bacterial filter gathers substantial air-borne contaminants including pollen, pet hair, dust, lint, and more..

Stage 2: True HEPA Filtering
Encapsulates 99.99% of airborne debris as small as .3 microns such as cigarette smoke, dust, plant pollen, mold spores, and pet dander.

Stage 3: Nano-Silver Coated Mesh Filter
Prevents and eliminates bacterial using a shield of tiny (1 billionth of a meter) silver particles

Stage 4: Washable Carbon Filter
Granular Carbon Filter futher eliminates odors from smoke, cooking, and organic decay.

Stage 5: Winix PlasmaWave
PlasmaWave creates postively and negatively charged ions that mix together with air-borne water vapor to create Hydroxyls. Hydroxyls quickly counteracts airborne viruses and bacteria, chemical fumes, and odors.

The automatic mode is great.  As soon as an odor is detected, this unit will automatically display an odor light and the fan will speed up to remove the odor.  Works great for pet hair also.

Quiet and powerful. Since purchasing this air cleaner we no longer see any floating dust and it does a great job removing pet odors. Our son has allergies and we purchased this unit for the living room after seeing how well the 9000S (smaller unit) worked in his room.

A great feature of the 9000 is that, unlike other air purifiers, it blows air straight up. This allows for it to be placed against a wall and reduces "breezes".

Negative Customer Comments

Doesn't seem to work for us unless it's set at the highest setting. Unfortunately, at this speed the unit is extremely loud and almost unusable in our living room.
