The Hoover Platinum Lightweight Upright features exceptional cleaning strength which eradicates much more filth from carpets and rugs compared to similarly priced uprights with comparable features. Weighing in at just over 11 pounds, you'll have no problem moving this vacuum up stairs or from place to place.
The Hoover Platinum is fashioned with user-friendly functionality including lighted finger tip controls which are located on an ergonomically designed handle. Also included are edge-cleaning tools with bristles for baseboards, a bright LED headlight, and a stair cleaning handle that allows you to easily clean steps and stairs without using any additional tools.
Worried about indoor air quality? The included HEPA filter bag traps 99.97% of pollens, dust, and dirt particles. You get a bag full indicator to let you know when it is time to change the bag and you'll appreciate the self-sealing bags that prevent dirt from escaping the bag when being changed.
In addition to the Hoover upright Platinum, you will also receive the Hoover Platinum Portable Canister vacuum. It's two for the price of one! The Hoover canister vacuum includes a stretch hose, a variety of floor cleaning tools, and a shoulder strap for easy transporting of the vacuum. This upright vacuum is light weight, relatively quiet, and cleans the carpets well. The LED headlight is very bright. Weight makes vacuuming the stairs much easier than our older Hoover. Hoover got it right on this one...does a great job of cleaning carpets.

This hoover vacuum cleaner is great. It has more power than you'll need, but at the same time it's incredibly easy to push around. Comes with a separate canister and portable vacuum for places that can't be reached with the upright. Wondeful idea, great vacuum.

Negative Customer Reviews
While the vast majority of reviews of this model are extremely positive, we are also seeing a small number of negative reviews (less than 5% of all customers rate this unit as 1 star). There seem to be two main complaints. First, some customers have complained about the vacuums bare-floor performance. Others have questioned the overall quality of the vacuum.
It does work very well on our rugs but not so much on hardwood floors. The vacuum is so powerful that it will suck any area rugs right up into itself. It advertises as a self-adjusting model but if it is I can't figure it out or see it adjusting.
