Welcome to our write-up on the the Miele Olympus Canister Vacuum model S2120.
Miele produces some of the most technologically advanced vacuums today. Based in Germany but with retailers across the USA and the world, Miele is well known for producing vacuums of superior performance and quality.
On this page we will be reviewing the Miele Olympus Canister Vacuum Cleaner. We will examine the Miele Olympus features, compare the Olympus to other Miele S2 models, look at both positive and negative Miele Olympus reviews, and give an overall rating and recommendation.
Miele S2120 Olympus Vacuum Description & Features
Miele produces a number of different canister vacuum cleaners, and all are spread out among three different products lines - S2 Galaxy, S4 Galaxy, and S5 Galaxy. The Miele S2 line includes models such as the Olympus (reviewed here), Capri, Dephi, and Titan models.
The Olympus is the most affordable of the S2 line of vacuums and is the perfect entry-level vacuum for anyone looking for a Miele. Many Miele vacuums come with separate tools for hardwood floors (parquet tool) and carpeting (such as the SEB236 Powerhead). These floor tools add substantially to the costs of these models, with the SEB236 retailing at close to $300.00 by itself. To save in costs, the Miele Olympus comes equipped with a dual purpose carpet/smooth floor tool. While this tool doesn't clean quite as good as the dedicated parquet tool and powered floor tools, for most people not dealing with excessive pet hair or very long/thick carpeting, the carpet/hardwood combo head (SBD350-3) that the Olympus comes with will perform just fine.
Additional features of the Miele Olympus S2120 include a telescopic wand, non-electric hose, dusting brush, crevice tool, powerful Vortex motor, dial power controls, and quiet operation.
The Miele Olympus vacuum can support a HEPA filter but does not come one out of the box.

Miele Olympus Reviews
Miele Olympus Canister Vacuum reviews by actual customers have been very good, with over 81% of all ratings above 4 of 5 stars. The negative reviews we have found complain about the vacuums performance on thick carpeting and the length of the cord (a common Miele complaint).

Positive Customer Reviews
By far, the Olympus is the best vacuum i have personally ever owned. It is very quiet, easy to move around and lightweight, has great suction, and it easy to cart around. It's exactly what a vacuum is meant to be. I use the Olympus on hard floors only, so I can't comment on it's performance with carpeting.

Look no more for a vacuum! We have two Mieles and this one is better than our first -- which is more expensive -- go figure! It's so quiet, very light, and I love the telescoping handle (fits perfectly in my closet). You will love the suction power, strength, and durability that you get with a Miele vacuum. .

Negative Customer Reviews
The Miele Olympus is good for hard wood floors but think twice about purchasing this if you have low pile carpeting. The brushes will become clogged and it's difficult to push back and forth.
-- C.H.
The cord is way, way, way, too short. Unless you live in a very small house or apartment, it will drive you crazy having to unplug the vacuum 20 times every time you need to do some cleaning.

Recommendation
The Miele Olympus S2120 is the perfect vacuum for anyone looking for an affordable Miele vacuum. The biggest downfall of this vacuum is the lack of powerheads for deep carpet cleaning, but that's also what makes it affordable and the perfect choice for some.
